Continuing her streak of strong releases for 2025, Perth’s Hannah Stow brings it home with the effervescent new track, ‘I Like Me’. Following on from previous releases including ‘Toxic Teddy Bear’, ‘Letting You Off’ and ‘I Never Changed’, this new slice of music from Hannah repositions her as one of the West Coast’s most exciting new names and, as we look ahead to the summer, she is definitely one to watch.
‘I Like Me’ was written by Hannah and collaborator Graham Ritchie (Holy Holy, Gretta Ray), and recorded at Brisbane’s 4000 Studios with producer Blake Malone (Amy Shark, Budjerah).
Authenticity and pure intent lay at the heart of Hannah’s music across the board, yet with ‘I Like Me’, she delves further in, exploring the uncertainties that can come with being an artist and giving everything in the pursuit of one’s passion and art.
“Music can be such a grind sometimes. Sometimes it hurts to pour your heart out into a song not really knowing whether or not it will pay off. I thought about giving up music for a little bit but then realised, “I like my songs more than I like you”, meaning I care more about what I have to give to the world than I do about any negative comments that get thrown at me during the process. It’s a song about self love, self acceptance, grit, determination and hard work.
I wrote this song during the big sound week at 4000 Studios. I was attending seminars in the day and shows at night, networking where I could and learning lots during the process. This song came to me in my hotel room one night after feeling really inspired from the week.” HANNAH STOW
Hannah’s growth since audiences were first introduced to her in 2020 has reflected her own evolution as a songwriter and performer. With over 3 million streams to her name, over 70k TikTok followers and impressive sets supporting the likes of 360 and AVIVA in the last year, Hannah’s presence is becoming increasingly felt with music fans in WA and beyond.
