Since their debut in 2019, Ghost Care have become one of the West Coast’s most exciting names.

The indie trio, whose music has endeared itself to a national fanbase, have already shown signs of elevation throughout 2025 – their music reflecting a matured sense of songwriting and musicianship that has developed beautifully on stages around the country.
 
With the release of their new EP Oh Positive, Ghost Care have embraced fresh energy as a group – exemplified already through singles including ‘Waiting By The Phone’, ‘Better Off’ and ‘LCD’ – and as an indicator of where the band is heading, the record sits as an entertaining peek behind the curtain.

Created at Perth’s Blackbird Studio with noted producer Dave Parkin (Spacey Jane, South Summit), with mastering by Joe Carra (Amyl and The Sniffers, Pond), Ghost Care achieve a great balance of mood and sonic texture throughout Oh Positive. On what lies within the new record, frontman Beau Torrance has said;
 
“There are moments of depth and lightheartedness, but overall I want listeners to feel uplifted. We played with tempo changes, especially shifting into half-time, as a way of sonically moving between light and dark. ‘Better Off’ really set the tone for the record. The biggest risk we took was letting ourselves be creative first without worrying about whether it was the easiest thing to play live or fit neatly into being a three-piece. It feels like our most cohesive and free work yet. If I had to sum it up in one word besides the title, it would be ‘healing.’”  BEAU TORRANCE, GHOST CARE
 
As for its themes and the EP title itself, the vocalist explains;
 
“This EP is my journey toward becoming a more positive person and how that can change your whole outlook. Each track is different, but we worked hard to make them cohesive in sound and message — admitting you’re struggling but still being thankful for what you have. That’s why I called it Oh Positive. My blood type is O+, and I liked the idea of positivity literally running through my veins.”  BEAU TORRANCE, GHOST CARE

With the EP’s aforementioned singles having drawn listeners in with a taste of what follows on the full record, ‘Bad For My Health’ arrives now as the focus track of the project. Optimistic, original, and open-hearted– this song emerges as the soul of Oh Positive.
 
“This is probably one of the most real and raw songs I’ve ever written… The lyrics came out so unfiltered I wasn’t even sure if it was something for the band or just something I needed to write for myself. But when I snuck it into the demo pile, everyone connected with it.

We worked hard on the arrangement but kept the rawness at its core. It’s both a song of sadness and hope, and to me it feels like that late-night conversation where someone finally asks you how you’re really doing. It’s brutally honest, but there’s comfort in that too.”  BEAU TORRANCE, GHOST CARE

The Oh Positive EP is the first collection of material from Ghost Care since they released their Pedal To The Metal EP in 2022.

In the years that have passed, the band’s profile has risen exponentially, headlining venues around the country and continuing to earn their stripes supporting the likes of Spacey Jane, Fool Nelson and Sly Withers in 2025.
 
Now, in the lead up to their own EP launch show lined up for this December, Ghost Care will take on stages across the country with esteemed indie darlings The Tullamarines as the main support for their Safety Blanket EP Tour!
