Newcastle singer-songwriter Angela Rose and Sydney’s Sam Rigney have unveiled their first-ever duet together, with the beautifully written alt-country track ‘A Driving Song’ out in the world as of today.

Striking a perfect balance between the two vocal styles, ‘A Driving Song’ sees the pair go line for line with infectious, confident melodies – both artists having their own shining moments throughout the track, whilst also complimenting each other with impeccable harmonies.

Blending indie and country elements together sonically, the track acts as a heartfelt ode to freedom, finding joy in the simple moments along the way with the one you love.

“‘A Driving Song’ is a nostalgic country duet about escaping the city with someone you love and taking a long country drive. With windows down, broken air-con, and old music playing, it captures the magic of being young, broke, and completely content in good company. ”
ANGELA ROSE

The pair have been friends for a while now, and initially wrote the song during a writing session over a year ago. They finally got together with producer Jack Nigro (Rum Jungle, Pacific Avenue, The Terrys) who helped bring the vision to fruition at Sonora Studios in the Central Coast, topping it all off with a soaring pedal-steel layer from Jy-Perry Banks.

“We are both long-time fans of each other’s work and mates, so when we finally sat down to write together, the song came together effortlessly in under an hour. It’s the perfect blend of our storytelling styles and shared love for nostalgic, heartfelt songwriting.

A year later, we brought it to life with Jack at Sonora Studios, where the track found its full potential and having Jy Perry Banks on pedal steel added that timeless country feel that we both love. It truly is the perfect song to put on in the car and take a long drive.” SAM RIGNEY

Angela Rose has had a busy few years since emerging with her first release ‘Summer Love’ back in 2021, finding praise from the industry and fans alike along the way.

As the frontman of Sydney band HighlineSam Rigney has 3 EP’s and an LP written, produced and released out in the world with a Sophomore Album on the way in 2026.
